GL Jr A Play-Off Format for 2003 Season

The league has expanded for 2003 to twelve community based teams working with the youth programs in each of these Ontario cities with well over 8,000 community youth players supporting the league.

The Gli has had three different Champions since the league inauguration (Kitchener Rage - 2000, Chatham Rolling Cobras – 2001 and Hamilton Power – 2002); in what is the only Junior A Inline League operating in the World. The Great Lakes Inline Jr A league will consist of a total 84 league games, 200 players, maximum of 12 play-off games in round one and 3 games for the “Final Four” segment to be played over the weekend of July 25-27,2003 during the Ontario Cup (Provincial Championships for all youth inline teams, Brampton, ON).

The league will be divided into three divisions (West – Chatham, Sarnia, London, Kitchener; Central – Brantford, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton; East – Toronto, Brampton Nationals, Brampton Radicals, Mississauga).

The winner of each division will get the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seed (most points of these division winners will determine what seed they will be awarded). The teams ranked 4th to 8th will be determined by number of points (number of wins being the tie breaking formula).

First Round will involve 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5, with a two of three series, with all games being played until a decisive winner is determined.

The four winning teams from Round One of the play-offs will advance to the “Final Four” tournament July 25- 27,2003 (South Fletcher Arena, Brampton, ON).

The Final Four tournament will involve 1 vs 4 (Saturday, July 26/03, 2:00PM) and 2 vs 3 (Saturday July 26th/03, 3:30PM) with winners advancing to the Championship Game (Sunday, July 27/03, 1:00PM).
