GLi Announce Early Bird Tourney

CHATHAM, Ontario, Canada – As a High Performance Program operated by the Canadian Inline Hockey Association (CIHA), the Great Lakes Inline Jr A League announces today the annual Early Bird Tournament has be set for Saturday, April 26,2003. The Oakville Coyotes will host the one-day tournament at the Oakville Memorial Arena.

The “GLi Early Bird” is the pre-season event in which all the GLi Jr A teams make decisions on final player selection for the upcoming inline season. It provides an opportunity for each team to make final evaluations of the remaining prospects still in camp. Each team will play two exhibition games throughout the day with a variety of team rosters.

The Great Lakes Inline Jr A League provided three young players to Team Canada’s, Gold Medal World Championship Men’s National team in 2003. Jay Allen and Ben Frank of the Toronto Tigers, Brett Leggat of the Hamilton Power and Bill Boyes of the 2002 London Fury.
