The league has expanded for 2003 to
twelve community based teams working
with the youth programs in each of
these Ontario cities with well over
8,000 community youth players
supporting the league.
The Gli has had three different
Champions since the league inauguration
(Kitchener Rage - 2000, Chatham Rolling
Cobras – 2001 and Hamilton Power –
2002); in what is the only Junior A
Inline League operating in the World.
The Great Lakes Inline Jr A league will
consist of a total 84 league games, 200
players, maximum of 12 play-off games
in round one and 3 games for the “Final
Four” segment to be played over the
weekend of July 25-27,2003 during the
Ontario Cup (Provincial Championships
for all youth inline teams, Brampton,
ON).
The league will be divided into three
divisions (West – Chatham, Sarnia,
London, Kitchener; Central – Brantford,
Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton; East –
Toronto, Brampton Nationals, Brampton
Radicals, Mississauga).
The winner of each division will get
the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seed (most points
of these division winners will
determine what seed they will be
awarded). The teams ranked 4th to 8th
will be determined by number of points
(number of wins being the tie breaking
formula).
First Round will involve 1 vs 8, 2 vs
7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5, with a two of three
series, with all games being played
until a decisive winner is
determined.
The four winning teams from Round One
of the play-offs will advance to
the “Final Four” tournament July 25-
27,2003 (South Fletcher Arena,
Brampton, ON).
The Final Four tournament will involve
1 vs 4 (Saturday, July 26/03, 2:00PM)
and 2 vs 3 (Saturday July 26th/03,
3:30PM) with winners advancing to the
Championship Game (Sunday, July 27/03,
1:00PM).
