World Inline Festival 2003 Release

With confirmed attendance from Great
Britain, Australia, Germany, United
States and the best Canada has to
offer, we anticipate 104 teams, and
over 1000 athlete’s from some of the
best Inline organizations in the
world. Interest is high from France,
Portugal, Spain, Italy, Sweden,
Finland, South Africa, New Zealand,
Costa Rica and Hong Kong, and in the
next few weeks many of these teams will
confirm their attendance.



Dave Easter, President/CEO of CIHA
believes this to be the most important
International Inline Event (Festival)
for the growth of the sport for inline
hockey. Easter says,” an event such as
the World Inline Hockey Festival will
continue to foster the growth and
development of the youth players of the
world as well as provide excellent
training for future High Performance
coaches and officials for all
participating countries. The cultural
exchange and life-long friendships
amongst players, coaches, officials and
parents cannot be overlooked as we work
toward growing the sport globally. This
event provides the Canadian High
Performance coaches and staff
opportunity to evaluate players for
future international championships for
our National Teams. We are not just
seeking the best skilled players for
the future, but for young people that
represent CIHA and Canada as good
sportsmen and ambassadors. This event
will without a doubt be the Ultimate
Player Experience”.




The World Inline Cup guaranteed 8 games
and myriad of off-rink social
activities will provide the Athlete’s
with world-class competition and the
opportunity to build long-term
friendships with players worldwide.

Edmonton’s experience in managing the
World Track and Field Championships,
Commonwealth Games, FIFA Under 19 World
Cup, World Triathlon Championships,
Grey Cup Football Championships and
many other tournament provides the
experience to meet our objective --- to
have the Athlete’s leave having
participated in the most memorable
sporting experience of their
lives.




Preceding the World Inline Cup, is the
Western CanAm Cup. This tournament
runs from July 4-6, 2003 and includes
some of the best Club teams from
Western Canada, as well as
International teams from Great Britain,
Australia, Germany and others wishing
to “tune-up” for the World Inline
Cup.
