For all international teams the pinnacle culminating a season of inline hockey is the Global Inline Hockey Festival (GIHF). The Canadian Hockey Inline Association (CIHA), the Westcoast Roller Hockey League, and the Inline Hockey BC Association are proud to present the 2001 Global Inline Hockey Festival and the 2001 World Youth Inline Hockey Championships.

The World Youth Inline Hockey Championships and Women's World Inline Hockey Championships are truly international tournaments showcasing all-star teams from inline hockey countries around the World. From the GIHF's inaugural event in 1999, countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Britain, USA and Argentina have all challenged Canada's elite-level players to earn the World Youth championship honour.

As the Global Inline Hockey Festival moves the championship to Langley, British Columbia, Canada in 2001, the Organizing Committee feels this Championship will be the most memorable. Set in the picturesque scenery of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, teams will compete at the SportsPlex facility, a unique blend of ice and roller hockey rinks and 2 NHL size ice rinks under one roof. The SportsPlex is a first-class facility with many amenities including a bar and grill restaurant and cafe with complete physiotherapy and training centres.

The GIHF Organizing Committee are extending invitations to inline hockey teams from around the world wishing to participate in what has proved to be a world-class event. The 1999 and 2000 Global Inilne Hockey Festival competition and experiences are still being talked about among inline hockey groups and players around the World.
